While Ozempic is GLP-1 receptor agonist , Munjaro is dual GIP (gastric inhibitory polypeptide) and GLP-1 receptor agonist (hormone that helps reghulate blood sugar levels by inhancing insulin secretion, inhibiting glucagon release, and slowing gastric emptying)

Both are administered once weekly via subcutaneous injection. The dose should be titrated with a gradual increasing dose for tolerance. 

Primarily both are approved for management of type 2 diabetes. They are also approved for weight loss under specific brand names Wagovy (semaglutide) and Zepbound (Tirzapeptide).  

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and decreased appetitie. There is potential for pancreatitis and thyroid tumors (very rare ).
